At the time, Relentless focused strictly on trim carpentry. Sales increased. The team expanded to 10 carpenters, traveling up to an hour away for projects.
But growth didn’t mean profitability. In fact, it created new challenges behind the scenes.
“We were in debt and operating with maxed credit cards often.”
However, that realization changed everything: working harder wasn’t the answer; working smarter was.
The Pivot That Transformed Relentless Kitchen & Bath
Around 2019–2020, the company made a strategic pivot into kitchen remodeling in Mokena, alongside trim work. By 2021, it became clear: kitchen remodels would become the core focus.
As a result, the team became leaner, the projects more intentional, and most importantly, the business profitable.
Between 2021 and 2023, the CEO invested in contractor-specific business coaching.
